Different Types of Diamond Engagement Rings

Diamond solitaire

The diamond solitaire is the go-to engagement ring for women when it comes to choosing a safe bet. This model, both refined and luxurious, has a sparkling diamond of varying sizes in its centre. This is the choice to make for an optimal enhancement of your central diamond insofar as the entire jewel is designed around it.

The stone is thus honoured uniquely, drawing attention to its size, purity, colour or particular shape. It, therefore, goes to the essentials and remains dazzling and timeless!

The halo engagement ring

If you don’t want to stick to a diamond solitaire, you can opt for a halo engagement ring. This consists of a central diamond surrounded by a multitude of smaller diamonds. It’s a perfect option if you’re looking for a dramatic effect but don’t want to invest in a rarer and more expensive gigantic centre diamond.

You should know that we personalize each ring down to the smallest detail to meet your desires and make it an absolutely unique piece. Relative proportions between the central diamond and the satellite stones, type of setting, shape of the central diamond, thickness and width of the band, halo shouldered or not… The possibilities are endless, depending on your sensibilities and the budget you have.

The shoulder engagement ring

To highlight the central diamond of your engagement ring, it is also possible to opt for a shouldered model. It’s a way to bring prestige to your creation without impacting your budget too much.

Your jewel will then be embellished with a succession of tiny diamonds set at the shoulders on either side of the central stone whether you want them to appear around the entire ring or just a portion of the ring that’s up to you.

The different settings of the central diamond

Claw settings and their variations

Traditionally, a pretty cathedral setting, bringing relief and highlighting your stone, is overhung by 3, 4, 6 or even eight prongs. The number of these small clamps, whose purpose is to hold your diamond firmly while enhancing it, depends on your tastes as well as the shape of the stone. Pears are usually held in 3 points, while more numerous claws are ideal for round cuts.

The lattice claws, with their delicate interlacing, are part of the original and refined proposals. This setting method is the one that brings the most light to your jewel and that perfectly highlights the central diamond.

If you opt for a four-prong setting, you can choose between symmetry in all four quadrants or cross-shaped symmetry. The latter supports your jewel with refinement while giving it a slender touch. A six-prong setting, on the other hand, can be declined in a north-south or east-west embrace, thus describing two alternating alignments of two opposing prongs, as well as the orientation of the entire bezel.

Closed and semi-closed settings

Do you want more originality?

In addition to prong settings, we sometimes find bezel settings, which encompass entirely the stone. They are reserved for more fragile diamonds or offered to customers with a preference for this type of design.

Finally, the tension setting clamps the diamond at two opposite points, exerting pressure on it to hold it securely.

In addition to the question of setting, the bezel of your jewellery can also take a heart shape or be personalized according to your desires. It brings softness and originality to your sweetheart’s engagement ring, to her delight.

The variations around the rings

When choosing an engagement ring, among the possible fields of customization, you can work on the design of your ring.

The split models double at the level of the central diamond, highlighting it with sophistication. Each of the two parts can also be paved, bringing brilliance and charm to the creation! Similarly, the rings can become thinner as they approach your stone or even bevelled.

Apaved bevel on both sides is a great way to attract light while offering an unusual geometry!
